The way commerce is being conducted is
going through a sea change. Many years ago trade was conducted by merchants who
traveled from hamlet to hamlet using locally produced products. These goods or
services were sold at fairs or out of small stores.
The hamlets grew into
cities and the stores began selling a wider variety of products. The great Trade
Routes and Sea Lanes fueled the development of worldwide commerce. This led to
the birth of what was to become a department store.
In the 1950's, we saw
the development of department store chains and malls. Grocery stores stocked
almost anything needed to to prepare even most gourmet meals. One-stop-shopping
was the rage.
Manufacturers advertised on radio and television to lure us
to their products. Organizations like Sears and the A & P seemed like they would
dominate forever. Then came WalMart and big became colossal. And, we know that
nothing could ever stop WalMart.
Wanna bet. What if I told you that malls,
Walmart and other brick and mortar institutions would become mere shadows of
what they are today. All brought to their demise by something that wasn't even a
blip on their radar screens ten years ago.
You guessed it - It's the
internet. Even global corporations are going to be using it to interact with
their customers. Your choice is simple. Either get on board or get trampled by
those who are.
The fir question you should be asking is HOW. If you
haven't done any research yet, you're in for a shock. 90% of all web sites that
advertise products to show you how to conduct business online are scams. That's
right 90% are scams.
I know of a program that will teach you the basics of
internet marketing, give you tools to help you learn and then give you a web
site to start your new business. I am computer challenged and I did it. So can
You.
My vocation is business, but my advocation is every thing
else. I use the cold winter months here in Wisconsin to study subjects ranging
from health and diet to quantum mechanics and from wind and solar energy to
"green" building procedures. I am currently researching probiotics because there
is strong evidence that the balance of microbes in your digestive tract is
elemental to good health.
I was in the Marine Corps, raised five children
and was the general contractor on my house. I ran for Congress once and I hope
to get a novel published some day. I strongly believe in the power of positive
thinking to bring wealth and good fortune into our lives; and I am fascinated by
the work of Masaru Emoto and his messages from water. I founded ChurchStreetHome
to be a clearinghouse for a variety of topics. You can learn how to make money
