Every day, thousands of hopeful, wide-eyed explorers embark on this 21th century "Gold Rush" known as Internet Marketing. They surf traffic exchanges, join MLMs, attend webinars, and attempt to transfer their "brick and mortar" businesses online. All in the hope of securing financial independence. Something that has eluded them in their non-Internet lives.
Is it too much to ask for relevant information that will help you grow your online business? Are there legitimate offers out there that prove Internet Marketing is more than just scams and hucksterism?
To prevent frustration and avoid throwing good money after bad, learn how to recognize people online and the relationship you currently have with them. After 1.5 years online, I’ve come up with five Internet Marketing personality types. See if you agree…
1. Visionaries (1 out of a million Internet Marketers):
They exploit the cutting edge while others are asleep at the wheel. These truly gifted marketers
are adept at genuine invention, or “over the top” innovation with other people’s work.
2. Elite Strategists and Executioners (1 out of every 200,000 marketers):
Strong earners who lack the pure insights of visionaries, but nevertheless run enormously successful
businesses through their highly sought, specialized skills (e.g. copywriting, list building, traffic generation).
They observe what is working now and tweak it a bit, so that they stand out from the crowd
and are recognized on a consistent basis by the visionaries (e.g. super affiliate marketers).
3. Rising Stars (1 out of every 40,000 marketers):
Marketers whose online earnings cover living costs at worst; often considerably more. They have moved
their Internet activity from hobby to business. Some have moved into the Internet Marketing “inner circle”
by interviewing experts, demonstrating rare expertise, or scoring high in affiliate contests.
4. Foot Soldiers (about 2% of all Internet marketers).
These people earn “hobby” income online by offering products and services as MLM distributors, direct
marketers, or as part of a co-op arrangement. They consult with and receive support from the above
three groups, and reciprocate by offering their well-defined marketing skill set.
Foot soldiers periodically rise to the next level with continuous learning, networking, and masterminding.
Recognize yourself in one of these groups? No? Fear not, 97% of online marketers are on the outside - for now. Struggling entrepreneurs, “newbies”, casual marketers, hobbyists – all these monikers describe the category of people who have yet to take it to the next level in their Internet Marketing lives.
